Le pouvoir de l’imaginaire en danse-thérapie

The power of the imagination in dance therapy

That is what is meant by “imaginary” ? I very much appreciate this definition : "the territory of dreamy dreams, fantasies, fables, myths, fiction and utopias ". In other words : a space of creation, formatting the impossible and the unspeakable. The perfect place to draw the symbols that will guide a session of dance and stimulate the own potting soil imaginative of his students !

Imagination opens the doors of the unconscious

It may be difficult for some, or even blocking, to give free rein to his movement and get to dance in an intuitive way and not mentalisée (what we are looking for a dance-therapy for the danced movement has a meaning and reflects the psyche of the student we're looking for a true motion and non-motion performed). Drag in the imagination and the journey, it is told : "here, this is not the real world ; the only barriers that exist are yours : you can let go, you can transgress, you can dive ! ". It allows the student to get rid of the clothes company, he confirms that, here, the rules are not the same and that one is in a space outside of time and social conventions. It's like opening a sacred space, and is preferred. In summary, it provides the conditions for access to the unconscious.

Break free from the limits of the real

Enter in this space, it's also clothe his skin of a beast, get in touch with his " I " sub-field. There is a side of a first dynamic back to the ground and the material concrete. On the other hand, it enables the individual to rise, to grow wings, to experience fully the incarnation of his dreams : it also opens up the dimension of the momentum toward the sky. Summon the imagination allows you to connect symbolically the individual to the double fundamental direction of the movement danced (anchored into the ground, headed towards the sky).

Power of the imagination, creative power

Finally, my conception of the dance therapy is related to the game, the pleasure and the joy. Evolve in the imaginary, it is seeking its inner child with its ability to invent worlds in direct contact with the real. It is also a pleasure to escape into a universe sensorially exotic – in its first definition, is that which does not partake of the ordinary and common, which is by its nature far. Finally, it is intentionally blurring the boundaries between real and dream to explore with malice, the depths of her psyche and its relation to the other.
